Apple pie & autumn

FALL!!! Not officially, but it is in the 60's today. I've been thinking about fall... And I got an urge to make a pie. My parents had picked up some fresh apples, so I made apple pie. It was splendid! And very easy too... (I didn't make my own crust, but I'll do that sometime!)

Easy Apple Pie
  • 1 (9 in) pie crust, buttered
  • 5-6 apples, but I did 7 because they were small
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter (3/4 cup)
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts. I used walnuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

Peal and cut apples. Place apples in pie crust and sprinkle with cinnamon and 1 tbsp sugar. In a bowl, mix 1 cup sugar, flour & butter. Blend in un-beatend egg, pinch of salt, and nuts. Mix well and pour over apples. If desired, put a top crust on the pie. Bake at 350 degress for 45 minutes.

And, Bon Appetite! My FIRST pie, and it was very good if I do say so myself!:)

Thank you for your sweet comments in my last post! WHO"S EXCITED ABOUT FALL?!!!

Oh, I love homemade apple pie...I was just thinking the other day that I'm awfully picky about my apple pie, and don't like store-bought, but fortunately in that case it's up to me to make the pie instead of buying it, so I can be as picky as I want. :D

I'm loving the cool weather....I wish it would last.

Hi... Our seasons are really very similiar these days. In the past, I did not like the uncertainty and danger of winter weather, especially ice. Other than that, I don't mind any of the seasons. I like the "carefree" attitude of summer, wearing sandals or going barefoot, enjoying the sun, and having fun. Spring and fall are more ideal than any other seasons, but sometimes it is difficult to go from HOT to cool in a short time.
